I think I have done enough work to show some WIP pictures.

Here's my foam core/wood framed arena.

I'm not sure I'm a fan of the blood spatter, but I love the surface. I would love to be able to paint that colour myself - how do you get it?

I mean the base colour - did you mix it yourself, or is it a standard colour from some line? I am curious...

Fair enough, thanks. :) Whenever I try to mix a sand colour myself, it just always ends up grey. But I guess I gotta keep experimenting.

Muted yellow base, more tan than lemon. Add flat brown for the shade. Muted yellow with white for highlight.

See Vallejo's Sand Yellow, and Iraqui Sand for mind tones and Pale Sand for the first highlight.
