Some paint is finally happening!
I am working out a date for my first demos, so I'm going to try and have this done by then...

Also, some pillars to go with my mats. Just yer basic cake topper style. I sprayed them once with bone spray, then again from a downward angle with white. Easy peasy.

Looking good!!
I've been lagging on my own arenas. Seeing pics of others is really good motivation!!

Wondering how many sets of the log wall did you use for the pit? It's hard to tell with the pictures. I saw/played on this at CaptainCon and OMG it was SOOOO well done. I'm planning a build for my LGS up here in Massachusetts, looking to do more of a "Persian" theme. Triangular flag/tarp over the stands. So on, and so forth. But the log walls would work fantastic in ANY regional Arena.
Thanks, Max

Well, after a solid Sunday's work, we have quite a bit done on our Arena Rex boards. Our DirtPit is just about ready for paint, and we started work on ur Henge board. We're pretty stoked about the progress on these guys. I can't wait to get some color on them and start getting some games in!

The pit board has the tried and true "dig the foam out and stick tooth-picks in it" technique. We made the also tried and true planking to cover them. They are also small enough that if we want, we can cover them with dueling rings.

The henge is in it's infancy, but you can see the scale we're looking at.

So, the arena is awesome. Breathtaking.

I am curious though, where did you manage to pick up the cake topper columns?

The columns are carried in the CAKE MAKING/DECORATING section at Michael's, A.C. Moore, and Hobby Lobby. Look in the Wedding Cake stuff. They're used to raise up different tiers of a cake. They're hollow/Thin plastic which makes it very easy to cut them if you're looking to create broken columns. Cut them and fill the cut pieces with some drywall compound before you paint and you can give the effect of a solid piece of stone that broke.

You can see this on the far left column in the picture.

And here's the link to WalMart webpage :

Thanks for the info! And I love what you did with the spikes around the column. And is that a "pit" of burning charcoal in the bottom left?

Wish I could take credit for the pillars and pits, but they are not my work. Stumbled across them in web searches and save the pics for reference.
