While waiting for my starter pack to arrive, I decided to make myself an arena to play on when they get here. I'll post my work in progress pics here!

This is the result of tonights effort.

Basic shapes cut. Plygwood base with two layers of styrofoam on top.

This is going to take forever...

Ran out of popsicle sticks, so started decorating the pits instead.

Something like that was my first idea, but I had to resort to a modular design with no floor because of storing problems.
Whatever, nice arena. I'd like to see how it grows. Thumbs up

Looking good. I like the wooden fence posts as your wall - seems like it would be perfect for a Zephyri themed arena.

Zephyri is indeed the starter pack I ordered! :)

Here is tonight's progress!

Image
I went to buy new popsicle sticks, but they weren't selling them anymore. Ended up picking up flower sticks instead, which were much longer but looked the same size. Luckily they were. Because they were longer, I had to come up with a new way of cutting them to size. This worked like a charm! Easily 10 times faster than what I was doing.

Image
Still a lot of sticks, but they are all in place now!

Image
Started working on the arena door!

Some more progress today, though nothing great

Image
I wanted some stone work near the entrance to the arena, so used clay and etched a stone pattern into it. I also created partial covers for the pits.

Detail of the stone work.

Started painting the pits and the wall

Pits will have spikes and water. Not only will your gladiators die, they will be wet and uncomfortable while doing so.

Wow, I think this Arena will look great! Keep up the work, I am really excited to see what it will look like.

Thanks man!

No updates the last couple of days, I've mostly been slapping multiple layers of paint on the palisade, trying to make it look old. I think I am getting there!

The colours are looking a little weird in this pic, the walls look less flat in real life. I am seriously considering redoing the actual door. Maybe a wooden door with a barred window instead.

Pit covers done

Looks really nice in the overview shot!
Especially the darker bits at the bottom of the palisade.

Thanks, I agree, I am pretty pleased with it. The overview is the most true to life look, not sure why the closeups ended up being so washed out. Hoping to get started on the ground today, looking forward to it.

Looking forward to the result. I hope to start working on my arena someday soon. Can't see it though currently... :(
