Added sand and slapped a layer of paint on the ground. Also started working on a new door, but the pic came out terrible.

The overall pic looks quite nice . Would be nice though to have the wooden fencing a more different color from the sand. That way, the sand doesn't look like wood and vice versa.

What's your plan for the ~5cm border around the arena? Is it for putting down your cards? And where are dice rolled? Next to it?

Agreed. The sand/dirt will hopefully end up looking a little more different in the end. I'm planning on adding some light vegetation and grass as well, which should add to the contrast. Well see!

I think I will go for a more muddy/wet/early winter kind of theme rather than the standard roman sands, with some dead grass and maybe some puddles if I can make it work. This arena would be located up in the north somewhere.

It's almost done. Basically only the water and the border around the arena left to do!


I am liking the new door a lot more!


I think I got the early autumn feel down. It looks cold and damp.

Looks great! I like the highlight of the floor next to the wooden palisades. Breaks out the two brown color tones.

Finally got inspired and managed to finish painting my two teams. First game tomorrow! I am worried about the fragility of the minis, but man do they look nice.

Wow! This arena looks really cool, and the models are beautifully painted. Excellent work all round.

If you feel like it, note down how the game goes and write a report for us.

I ended up making some real quick scatter terrain to add some extra hazards.



The game turned into a bit of a slug fest in the middle of the arena, but it was a lot of fun and we definitely saw the potential. Well play some more and we should get better as we learn the ins and outs of the characters.
