Hi...want to share my arena-WIP pictures with you...

It is 75cm width and i try to give it the option to come into the arena in many ways...8 entrances

I have the idea of randomly come creatures to the arena, so you can throw a d8 and then see where it will come.

I also will add trap doors and piked walls (for throwing your opponent into or onto :-) ) and of course some pillars. Additionally i will add some hooks on the walls for adding some lions with a string (who maybe getting free ;-) )

Any comments...?

That's really cool man. Its really simple and clean. I like the idea of the random entrances.

Nicely done.

Love the canopy raised seating. Something I plan on doing too so I hope I can get seething that looks half as good as yours.

What did you use to make the walls? I have been mulling over what material would be best to make a consistent circular wall.

Thank you for the feedback...i used polystyrene and cut it into squares of 8x8 cm....then i glued balsa wood over the points of intersection. So it seems to be circular (and it is indeed) but there are 24 separate parts :D

Quite impressive, especially the seating area.

Dare I say that I think it may be a little plain for an emperor. :? Bare in mind that Caesar had the Colosieum and all its grandeur.

However a town prefect or senator, a rich trader or foreign dignitary, even the owner of the gladiator school would have a suitable box for entertaining clients and visitors (some things never change it is the same today with corporate boxes at football).

Are you planning on doing more seating? If so what style ? How are you doing it?

A couple more boxes (maybe less grand) would look great, and a rack of benches for the paying plebs would also look great.

Actually does anyone know of some 28mm scale Roman spectators on the market? It might be a niche market but I can see a few arena builders will be looking to fill their stands. :?:
