Hi folks,

I have been waiting years to get into AR and finally managed to get 2 starter sets during GenCon: Legio XIII and Morituri.

Unfortunately my heart broke trying to assemble these 2.

Zahra - her metal whip is too heavy to hold on such a flimsy wrist. I can't get the parts to glue. It's driving me nuts.

Ban-Luca - probably my favourite model... but my god the assembly of her arms and spear leave me wanting to tear my hair out. The sculpt provides no guides to align the parts correctly, I am about to green stuff the crap out of it and drown my sorrows.

Any help would be really really appreciated, as I really do not want to butcher these models.

I would love to help, but I can't think of much advice other than perseverance and pinning.

My Zahra's whip hand broke off recently (I dropped her) and this time I pinned the wrist and also braced the whip against the base for extra stability.

I remember having problems with Ban-Lucas arms too. Again, pinning helps, because you get to dry-fit the parts while you are drilling and pinning, and once they are pinned, they slot together and stay together. Hopefully.

Thanks for the moral support :)

How do you pin such a small diameter? Even my smallest pin-vise bit and rod is too big for such a thin wrist... perhaps there are smaller bits and rods out there I had no idea existed.

I think I will also brace the whip against the base.

I dunno, but for me it works. If I look at it, it looks to me like the wrist, once you file down the uneven tab things, is about 2mm wide or so, or a little less. My normal drill bit is 1mm wide or so. Drilling into the hand and arm and getting a paper clip in as the pin wasn't that hard for Zahra in my case. And it's the same basic operation for Ban-Luca, Sven, and many other AR models I think.

I can post pictures of drill and model comparison if you like.

Nah it's ok. I ordered a smaller bit size and hopefully that will do the trick.
