I have a quick question for anyone who happens to be lucky enough to own both Valen and Hagel.

I would like to add Valen to my cohort, however, I am not a big fan of his shield. I was thinking about taking the shield that Hagal has on his back, and giving it to Valen, as it would fit the "Norse" aesthetic more. I have not been able to find any images of an un-assembled Valen, particularly how the shield attaches, so I'm not entirely sure how difficult this would be. Any assistance is much appreciated.

Hmm...it's been awhile, but I'm pretty sure Valen's shield arm is holding a handle and has a flat part that goes along his forearm. The shield itself attaches to the flat part. Should actually be pretty easy for conversion work.

Post pics when you're done!

I am lucky enough, and I don't see any problem with this idea. Hagals shield is massive, much bigger than Valens, so be prepared for that. But I see no other issues.

Does Valen seem Norse to you?

Thanks, I guess I will just have to pull the trigger, and see what I can do once the models arrive. Hopefully Hagal's shield wont look comically large on Valen.

In my eyes, Valen (without the helmet), has a "wild" look to him, and he seems like he could fit right in with the the rest of the Zephyri.

I totally agree that helmetless Valen, especially when painted with blonde hair, looks very viking-y. For that same reason, I took that Valen head and used it to replace the head on my Hagal. So I sometimes forget that that is meant to be the Valen head. :)

I can also take a photo of Hagal's shield next to Valen when I get home from work.

Excellent, thank you.

Might need to re-position Valen's arm a bit, but I think I can make that work without looking silly.

I think so too. And having just assembled Frigge, I can say that Frigge's shield is almost as large as Hagal's shield.
