Has anyone painted their fatigue tokens? I think that they would look nice in dark bronze. Rustoleum makes this color spray.

Here's what I did...

Black base coat, with the theta painted orangey-yellow and highlighted up to white to look vaguely reflective, then sprayed with a gloss enamel to keep them from chipping.

Alternatively, I think your idea of bronze spray paint plus a splash of GW's verdigris would look pretty badass as well - and be infinitely easier.

I've thought about it. I really like the colour of the plastic they are cast in, they have a stone-like look to them I think, but I thought of painting the recessed theta symbol black or red to make it stand out. But I think for now, they look so nice just the way they are that I will leave them unpainted.

Does anyone know the reason that a theta symbol is on one side?

My guess is that it's the circle and line through it as in "no go" or "do not use".
It's just easier to describe it as a theta symbol than "the circle with a line through it".

The theta is commonly found in ancient murals, etc. indicating a gladiator that died as part of the match. The fact that it also worked as the modern "No ___ allowed" made it an easy choice with a negative connotation either way. Theta is much shorter to say though. ;)
