Hi! My name's Scott, I'm new here, I love painting things!

Right now I've just got this one model, but I've got a LM starter in the mail, and will be building an arena for demos as well. Figured I might as well start a thread and document it all.

Anyway, work in progress!

I'll take better photos of things once they're finished! :)

Wow - nicely done! Way to make an entrance on the board. A couple things...

1.) How did you do Anum's skin? It's fantastic! I personally struggle with brown skin - it's easy to get too red or too gray without even realizing it, but you nailed it.

B.) Your final photo is great. Certainly better than any I've done.

III.) Reallly like your color choices. It seems like your teal and red are stronger than the studio version and I think it really works.

Thanks! I've always struggled with darker skintones myself, this is the first time I've been happy with it. Growing up with tutorials from certain british companies left me woefully unprepared for anyone whose skin isn't some sort of pink... :D

For the base, I used P3 Umbral Umber. I blended up with a little VMC Flat Earth and VMC Pale Yellow, and shaded recesses with a mix of the umber and VGC black.

I actually was worried my blues and reds were too timid!

That looks fantastic! You should totally document all the stuff you paint and make, I love project logs like this. I'm new here too, and also a fan of documenting everything I do. :D

How did you get into the game? Was it at the recent Gencon?

Looks fantastic :). Also really like the skintone as well as the teal colors. They really pop :).

I just want to say that I expect/look forward to more updates on this thread. The Anum above looks really great. Being the beast master, I would think that he might be joined by a couple of beasts that he has mastered... ;)

I'm back!

Working on two demo starters, and learning to use Scale75's flesh tone set, which I HIGHLY recommend!

So far I've only done Micon's chest, but I'm super happy with it.

Looks good - nice life-likeness to the skin tone.
