Thank you! I actually played a game tonight, as I do a couple of times a year, and snapped some pictures of the action.

We had Legio on one side, with Aquila, Aemilia, Ywain and Ladon.
Zephyri on the other, with Leika, Bjarrhvit, Vargr and Leo.

My classic round arena, decked out with some classic hazards, so far so empty.

Image

Battle commence! Leo has already been taken out, after he threw a first attack on Ladon, who counterattacked, and rolled like 8 successes against Leo's 3 or something like that.

Image

Vargr darts around, and works on whittling Ladon down to size. Leika still slowly creeping up.

Image

Ladon has been taken out, and Bjarrhvit and Ywain start a long duel of attacking and parrying each other's blows.

Image

In the end, the Legio won out, with Aemilia and Ywain still standing. Aemilia proved especially tenacious, fending off attacks left and right and generally being a rock.

Leo did when he made the first attack of the game. :) And then he was defeated by dragon breath. :(

Cato done. I think. I decided from the beginning that if he was going to have a cloak, I would have to do some freehand on it. So I did. But I'm really not sure if I picked the right kind of pattern. It was the best I could do, I think. What I may end up doing is smudging it up some more so it will be more subtle and just give a hint that some pattern is going on, but without being sharp.

It honestly looks better in person that in the photos though.

WIP, pre freehand:

Finished work so far:

And with mounted unpainted (and uncloaked) buddy.

Honestly, what I should have done - and I may go back and do some day - is paint the edge of his cloak in the same pattern that is on the edge of his shield. The repeated S pattern which looks so awesome.

I just honestly am not sure I have the skill - and I would definitely have to buy a new brush for it. But now I have thought of it, I probably won't be able to resist.

The riding Cato is now done too. Which means that every single AR model I have is now painted. Yikes. I guess I need to get more. :)

The big news since last time I posted has been the Helleniki release. Mine are currently being prepared for pickup at the post office, which I am excited about. But since I still don't have any AR models to paint, I decided to work on some new hazards. This is the first one, a spiky fency thing. My plan is to make two of them.

As always, it looks great. Not sure what it's supposed to be, but it looks suitably spiky and dangerous!
