Yes well done on the models and arena floor. Did you use actual sand for the texture ?
I've read of some people using spray adhesive and then pouring actual sand to give texture. Some are using aquarium sand too. I've been looking at the Restore x10 Sandstone Deck Coat, and then dry brushing some darker tones here and there.

I use vallejo texture paint, no muss no fuss. Its 8 dollars for 250ml and to do this board it took about 1/2 of the 250ml tub. I also use it to base all of my models for every game I play (except infinity where I use futuristic bases).

It creates random patterns, so looks very natural. A huge benefit is there is no mess :)

just some more color block / pre shading ... but progress (minus crappy pics). I will have to get the light box setup at some point.

Thanks! I am trying to get him up to table top as quickly as possible so I can run some fully painted demos for our local store. Then ill go back and work on details once I hammer out some more models

With Leo "done enough to use on the table top", I am taking a break from him and working on the scorpion.

Just did his base coats and will start doing some details soon to get him also to the stage of "done enough to use".
