So I received my first miniatures right before the first ever Arena Rex tournament. Even though the models are not finished, we had a great time. Mine received a little coloring before going to the tournament.
We managed to play a few introductory games before the tournament at SaarCon and in the night, the 8-player tournament started, everyone playing 3 games.

Here are some shots from introductory-games (one being a 1vs1vs1) and at the end the four models that already received some paint but are still WIP.

Small introductory game:

And two pictures from our 1vs1vs1, which was playable really nicely:

Currently WIP are those models that I wanted to get at least some paint on before the tournament:

Nice start! The red and gold tie them together really effectively and make it clear they're all LM fighters.

(And I have to confess that Otho is currently intimidating me too much to start on him - kudos for taking care of business.)

Thanks for the feedback. Otho is not that difficult, I at first wanted to get Gaius instead of him but decided to stay in-faction and I am not disappointed.
It is actually not really gold, except for the highlight of the metal. It is made by tin-color, black wash, brass highlight and then gold highlight (both drybrushing). And it has an amazing effect, which I really liked :).
That's why I am going to have all the gladiators use those colors for my LM. And the others which I will order as soon as the shop goes live, will receive different color schemes.

I was able to continue with my ARENA REX models.

Both models that I almost finished (just some basing and touching up left):

Gaius Pallidus (who convinced me into ARENA REX):

Aquila:

So that "only" leaves Euryale, Septimus, Septimus&Nero, Aemilia, Medusa, Hermes, Sulla, Viatrix and the Zephyri Starter Set on my painting table.

Please excuse the bad picture quality.

Very sweet! Red vs. Blue. This looks to be an outdoor sparring match, rather than one in an arena. ;)

Yes, it was just a demo game for two people in our club. And since the arena is at my home and I am not that mobile, I like to just use whatever is around. So we played all the rocks being hazards that give fatigue.
The interesting part is basically, that after sitting next to them for the first game, being available for questions, I went to look at another game that was played and talking to other people in the club while they went ahead and did their second game completely on their own without needing to refer to the rulebook.

Simple, clever, elegant - ARENA REX. We just need a retailer here in Europe to have this game launch a bit and to make it affordable here.
