Is it possible for designteam to give out some blank charactersheets? best would be to give some layerbased format. together with some basic rules for characterbuilding (maybe some kind of skilltree to pick off) would be cool! would love to build some customcharacters with kindomdeath and warhammerbits.

It seems stupid to say but the only overall rule would seem to be that you would not want someone to just build a gladiator for another ludus.
Say a Micon for Blood Brothers as an example.
I would assume you would want a general rule to make any created gladiator unique (i.e. they do not repeat an existing or created one).
Otherwise the ludus becomes repetitive.

Some ludus are more inclined to have some abilities/skills than others.
For Blood Brothers they'd likely give them Disengage because they wear no armor and because every one so far has it.

OK! I threw together a basic character generation system. In short, it uses Character Points to rough out your stats, abilities, damage and vitality tracks. I've also stat'd out all the Ludus Magnus gladiators using this system to weigh the costs and get a range.

3rd, 4th, 5th F in vit = 2 each
If the F is in a [][][][][] block that already has an F = +1/+3/+5/+10

Special Ability = 5
Star- or Skull-triggered Ability = 3
Drawback Ability = -3

Average = 48.5

If you were making characters then, an acceptable range would probably be 45-50.

As I was typing this up, it occured to me that you could also use this system to make a campaign-style character growth. Any thoughts to that RRG? *nudge, nudge*

funny thing, your average numbers kinda reflect the feeling of players how strong the different ludi are :)
