OK! I threw together a basic character generation system. In short, it uses Character Points to rough out your stats, abilities, damage and vitality tracks. I've also stat'd out all the Ludus Magnus gladiators using this system to weigh the costs and get a range.
Code:
base stats 5/4/1/0
+stat = 4cp
-stat = -3cp
base damage track
{}
|
{}
|
{}
|
{}
2 or -> or star = 1
3 or Q or ^ = 2
4 or F= 3
5th {} tier = 1
6th {} tier = 2
extra {} any tier = 1
10 vit [] base track
11[]=1 12=2 13=4 14=6 15=9 16=12 17=16
1st, 2nd F in vit []s = 1each
3rd, 4th, 5th F in vit = 2 each
If the F is in a [][][][][] block that already has an F = +1/+3/+5/+10
Special Ability = 5
Star- or Skull-triggered Ability = 3
Drawback Ability = -3
Lupa 43
Iason 51
Viatrix 51
Urbicus 50
Otho 39
Infelix 45
Hermes 54
Marcus Furious 47
Micon 55
Septimus 50
Average = 48.5
If you were making characters then, an acceptable range would probably be 45-50.
As I was typing this up, it occured to me that you could also use this system to make a campaign-style character growth. Any thoughts to that RRG? *nudge, nudge*
EDIT;
Stat'd out the other Ludii
Code:
Aquila 52 Tiet-Khebi 51 Sven 53 Noxius 36
Ban-Luca 57 Ur-Kek 40 Vargr 51
Gaius Pallidus 48 Mago 38 Frigge 63
Urien 49 Zahra 38 Bjarrhvit 53
Aemilia 56 Thoth 35 Hroka 57
Average 52.5 Average 40.5 Average 55.5
If anyone has any suggestions for improving the system, fire away. I'm going to try making up a few gladiator stats for the Reaper Bones we've been using to test.
