I saw this on Facebook and put my thoughts there, but I’ll mirror them here as well:

Page 15 of the rules says “if at least 75% of the Gladiators in your cohort are from the same ludus then you gain access to that ludus’s bonus abilities and Tactics.” Page 12 of the rules says “The group of miniatures each player selects for their game is their Cohort.”
So you shouldn’t lose the benefits since the cohort is defined by the models you chose at the beginning and not the models currently in the arena.

I like that reading. It does seem to say that "cohort" is meant to apply to construction of the original team, not whatever happens to be left of it in the arena at the moment. Which matches how almost everyone assumes it should work.

Ive played dozens of games being that a friend of mine plays dozens or more and introduces me to many.

I've never come into contact using such a specific example, but I have never seen any game where your army/team/whatever suddenly changes based off game context.

Your gladiators walk into the Arena such as in Spartacus, representing the house of ____

That is your house for the game.
