Post subject:  Few questions from a new player

Hi all,

I recently got into Arena Rex while seeing them at GenCon and have played a handful of games since then, but we have a few questions.

1) Pushing. When you 'push' an enemy do you have any control over the direction of the push? Or do you basically draw a line through the center of your two bases and they get pushed along that line?

2) Beasts. If taken as part of your cohort do beasts still get to operate normally during your regular turn and only go wild in your clear? Our original understanding was that beasts could only activate as part of going wild, but after looking again I think this is wrong.

3) What happens when Gaius Pallidus is thrown into a lethal pit and has not yet resolved his Undying rule?

4) What is the proper order of spending favor dice and reacting in combat? There are a few orders I could see...
Player A declares attack
Player A declares Favor dice
Player B declares Favor dice
Player B declares Counterattack reaction

Player A declares attack
Player B declares Counterattack action
Player A declares Favor dice
Player B declares Favor dice

Player A declares attack
Player A declares Favor dice
Player B declares Counterattack action
Player B declares Favor dice

As I read it...

1. Draw a line and push along the line as you say. No control. The control comes from moving around the victim before you push.

2. Beasts both get to activate normally and also go wild.

3. He dies, recovers, and then dies again immediately. That specific rule is the reason (I assume) that lethal hazards are phrased as you being continually defeated as long as you are in contact with a lethal hazard, not as a one-time thing.

4. The second of your three suggestions. Declaration of the attack and reaction come before you actually start resolving the attack. When you start resolving the attack, you declare Favor points.
