On Anum's Bestiae card, Pack says "may use benefits". Is this an oversight or can I choose to not benefit from Obedience and go Wild if the situation is useful?

I believe that means that at the beginning of your game you may choose which ludus benefits you will claim (Morituri or Bestiae since you will be eligible for both). Once you have selected though, those benefits will apply for the rest of the game. So if you choose Bestiae, Obedience is a passive benefit that cannot be turned off.

Yeah, you're right. It's a "may" for the whole card. Not a pick and choose.

I was hoping. ;)

Honestly though, you're better off using the Morituri benefits instead of the bestiae, assuming you're running Anum + full beasts. The only thing you'd miss is goad, which isn't all that useful, especially considering that with the Morituri benefits, even your beasts get to remove exhaustion on a clear turn with "will of Anthony."

Hmmmm. Been thinking about this more and more... and I am leaning in favor of this now. A beasts cohorts is better served by Morituri rules than Bestiae ones. It's good t have options, so I am going to have to run some test games to decide. Maybe even play the same cohorts against each other, one having gone Bestiae and the other Morituri... will discuss more on a different thread as this is one is really only supposed to be for rules questions/comments.
