We tried and adapted some picking sequences from DOTA. First 2 bans for each player, then the first player picks 1 gladiator, then player two picks 2 gladiator followed by 1st picking 1 and banning 1, same for 2nd player etc.

ended up quiet interesting :D

Very cool. Planning on doing some similar selection for models when they finally come in. Went in whole hog but a lot of locals are only now getting interested.

Glad to know its working.

That's an interesting idea. Really kind of like it for a tournament, even though this could take quite long. Also, there should be more gladiators available, to prevent having the same game all day. Though this can be prevented by having greatly balanced gladiators.

in dota games it takes around 5-10min but gives the games more depth

True, I forgot about the time-limit. It would be a lot of fun for a tournament, although difficult since - if one player doesn't have that many gladiators - he is fairly limited in selection and if known, the enemy player can simply ban out his effective gladiators. But it's an idea worth thinking about a little bit longer.
