So I wanted to get a discussion going after a particular game got me thinking about the true game tactics of the different factions. Note this is only valid considering the models from each faction without mixing them.

I used to play morituri as my main faction and they are a risk vs reward grou that is highly efficient on fatigue as a resource. Their favor gen is weak to make up for this. They like to hit clear turns frequently

I now play legio as my main group. They are highly reliant on synergies between themselves to maximize potential. They have a lot of moderate def/arm models and most have a reasonabl abount of pushes in addition to damage. Their strength is a mix of thematic abilities giving them access to new reactions and tactics and some unique movement shenanigans. Favor generation is heavily focused on getting it from their damage trees. They struggle to generate it otherwise.

What does everyone think? Observations on other factions?

I appreciate the desire for discussion here, sorry that nobody has replied so far. I think your observations make sense, but I have a hard time supplementing with observations of my own.

I think I just haven't played enough games really. My observations tend to be about individual models that I have noticed perform in specific ways during games, not about general school characteristics. For example, that Otho can be a nightmare to play against when your opponent is crafty and keeps putting his zone of denial where you don't want it. But that doesn't say much about LM as a whole.

You say that both Morituri and Legio tend to be weak in favor generation (maybe Iocasta will help with that for Mori). Obviously LM are great at favor generation with their ludus benefits. I have heard people say that Zephyri are weak at favor generation too, but I noted that they have a cool trick - their Blood Brothers ability lets them move damage around between them, so they can damage themselves by berserking, and then shift around the damage so that new damage is applied to favor giving damage boxes. This can effectively bee a source of free infinite favor each clear turn.

I can't really speak for any factions other than Zephyri. The Ludus favors high mobility, and being very aggressive.

Wishing touched on the shenanigans they can do by sharing and redistributing damage to consistently generate more favor. They are a bit like Morituri with a high-risk, high-reward play style but I would add "they have to spend favor to make favor." (which is why I can't stand Otho and Hermes. Those two really throw a wrench in Zephryi game plans. And unlucky for me, my main opponent almost always plays the two of them together)
