Curious to know, either from Red Republic or one of the few lucky people who were able to get one of the minis early via a contest, what is the strength of the resin minis?

I read that they are a bit stronger than the resin used generally in our hobby, such as Studio mcvey. Hope they are, one of the things I never liked about resin in terms of a gaming perspective is how fragile resin is. thin parts snap too easy. :x

At least Arena Rex has low model count in its favour (I must not buy them all, I must not...).

Much easier to keep your pride and joys safe when you only have to pack 7-10 in a case.

Also I guess it's quite a difficult question to answer. If they say 'Yes, it's stronger than normal resin' we'll be even more miffed should one snap...

Never really had my hands on a resin model before, but given the number of spears/swords etc I'd really hope they could survive a little tumble on a table or very very low accidental drop... otherwise...

As long as they are not as fragile as the Wrath of Kings resin models I will probably be a happy camper.

Damn were those things fragile. Try sanding the bottom of a foot. SNAP.

Sanding part of an arm, wrists snap.

stop a model on the floor, staff snaps.

Actually made me miss metal. :D

I'm kind of hoping the strength'll be somewhere between Hasslefree and Troll Forged myself. Troll Forged's resin is strong but has a slightly grained texture to the surface that'll disappear when covered with paint. Possibly the strongest resin I've seen to date.

do they have a grainy texture due to the resin material, the casting molds, or a process they use?

I think it's a process. The Trollforged miniatures have some special bubble free process (that Ed's keeping secret from industry rivals). I'll take a photo sometime later to show that it's not realy grainy. Just a slightly different texture and grainy's the closest word I can use to describe it. The reason I'm not taking a picture now is that it's 3.14 am here at the moment.
