I am not sure if this was ever addressed during the KS campaign, but did RRG ever state their intentions with how the models for the mounted titans will work?

I think I read that the riders can get knocked off their mounts, but will the models themselves be able to be dismounted and used independently?

i.e If I purchase a Septimus/Nero model, will I need to have a separate Septimus model in the event that he gets knocked off?

Well that was a moronic reply...

I think they did mention that they would be used as a mounted and unmounted, hence you would nees both. You can also see (early testing i imagine) micon has the power to dismount with his atlas throw ability, so yes, they can be knocked off... I think.

You 'nees' to chill out mate, was only a bit of fun.

Yeah, the full version should have rules for dismounted riders. It's one of the things I'm most looking forward to. Kick a rider of his mount then watch the wee beastie run amok through his (and my...) ranks. Should be good!

In terms of needing both, I figured as much, but we still don't know if the mounted titans would be two separable models, or if we had to purchase the corresponding "unmounted rider" models for each Titan.

If I want to purchase the Septimus+Nero model, I don't necessarily want to use one of my KS selections to buy Septimus unmounted as well... I can always use a paper proxy in the interim I guess.

Another interesting question that will likely be addressed later in the play test when they introduce the Titans - when dismounted, how will the vitality bar look like? Can attacks target rider and mount separately?

Can't wait to find out!

Also interested to see if a rider can remount his mount after being dismounted.

I actually hope not as It'll be a great leveller in terms of game play. Take a powerful, mounted character but take the risk his mount may end up attacking your own models.

Definitely has the potential to be one of the best aspects of the game (not to mention the centre piece of your force).
