My mistake- not exhausted. But still on the edge of a pit that isnt that bit none the less...

But from a play point of view it provides another turn of action (well 2 turns as you remove the Fatigue) and a bit of excitement for the virtual crowd.

Granted annoying for the pusher's point of view but overall fairer IMHO.

What about this?

Leap of Faith: available to all non-exhausted gladiators. If this model would be pushed into a pit, they may attempt to avoid falling in by rolling a D6. On a 5+ the model succeeds, is immediately positioned up to 4" away while still touching the pit. The model then increases their fatigue level by one. If still in combat range of the enemy model that caused the Leap of Faith, the attack continues as normal. Models with speed 6 or higher may re-roll failed attempts once. You may use favor dice with this roll.

Puts a limit on how far the model can leap (may have to leap diagonal or sideways to meet requirements), imposes a penalty on the leaper, and gives faster models an increased chance to avoid the pit.
