Anyone else find that attack 4 just doesn't cut it?

Really depends on who we are talking about, and their targets. Against DEF 3 guys, yeah, it's rough.

Noxius makes good use of his ATK 4... just have to plan to use an extra favor dice, or two.

Noxius has the 'Hated' rule so can't use Favor (unless he's last man standing).

ATK 4 is there for balance issues I guess. I'd prefer some models not as good as others for ATK rather than everyone turning into a 'vanilla' model with pretty much the same stats.

Son of a.... I always botch something in my games it seems!

The one model I've used with attack 4 is Aemilia and I think it works for her. She has a 3 in her first box, meaning she does good damage with 1 net success. She has a favor in her third box, so she has a decent chance of recovering a favor die if you spend one. The only problem I've run into is Retaliate (Frigge), which punishes attack 4 pretty severely.

Attack 4 seems pretty bad in first state, but I think that it's to mitigate some capacity or to say that this model is not a frontal fighter but they can wait the possibility to counter attack in which case their attack give them a 4 in defense with a chance to do some damages.

In the case of amealia you can react to a movement to contact an ennemy model and use a favor to attack immediately a break your oppenent strategy before he can attack is initial target. With some success she can go away after doing damages. An attack of 5 would be a little to powerful in this case.
