I would love to see some more rules for line of sight and a limited amount of ranged attacks. That doesn't mean i want an archer or something, but at least a form of limited possibilities.

My idea was a little box (1 max 2?) on the character card, that can be marked like vitality boxes to mark the ranged attack potency. Sven got a spear and a sword, marcus furio got a trident and a net. Giving opponent somthing more to think of. Maybe this can be pared with a different ATT for that action.

I think, the charm of the game is, that it does not have that but is up close and personal.
And, as far as I remember, RRG said, that they won't have ranged attacks in this game. Makes the rules more simplistic, in my opinion. I prefer no ranged attacks.

you can just keep rules easy and add rule for ranged attack on specific character card. you get me wrong, if you think i want endless ranged attacks. just 2-4 guys, that could add some depth like zharas lash or euryales lure.

If they were to implement something like this, it would have to be a one-time ability, such as Sven throwing his spear.

The upside would be something like a 2+ or 3+ to hit, and total DMG of about 3-6 max?

The downside would be a negative modifier to Sven's stats, likely ATK or DEF since he is now more exposed?

It would be an interesting mechanic, but I think the complexity and lack of utility outweigh any "coolness factor" in having the ability to launch a ranged attack.

Still, something to think about... (I would prefer RRG flesh out objective or scenario rules sooner than add ranged attack options)

i could imaging a mori turi death ability.

if you play for such synergy you can get like more guys with ranged attacks and go for focusing 1 glad to death.

But with ranged attacks come things as LoS, whether to use a standardization of model size to draw LoS to.
I think it is fine as it is.

I think ranged attacks is a big enough for a stand alone expansion that is seperate from the core Arena Rex. You could have mounted archers, chariots, hunting animals with nothing but javelins. It would be all ranged weapons, with no melee, effectively the opposite of AR.
