I wonder if the ability "brave" is used like "berserk" : with brave, a model must or can use 1 favor and suffer 3 damage instead of gaining a fatigue ?

I think that as written, the two abilities are different.

With Berserk, when you choose to act while you are exhausted or fatigued, it is clear that you can just use fatigue normally during your activation (where you can use one fatigue to go from fatigued to exhausted). Taking damage and using favour instead of using fatigue is just an option.

With Brave, as written, if you choose to react while you are exhausted or fatigued, you have to take damage and use favour. You don't have the option of taking the fatigue normally (taking you from fatigued to exhausted) instead.

I could see the point in saying that it would feel more elegant if the two abilities worked the same.

I am agree with you : it would be more elegant if the two abilities have the same wording. As written, I understand "brave" like you.

But since the wording of "berserk" is nearly the same, I was wondering how the authors want "brave" to be understoud.

If they were to be coordinated, I think I would prefer Berserk to work like Brave. So Berserk would be something like: "This model may act while fatigued or exhausted. During an activation that started when the model was fatigued or exhausted, the model must spend 1 favour and take 3 damage whenever it would otherwise gain one fatigue."

Brave is intentionally more restrictive. :D
